Currently, the research activity of Dr. Noemi Finetti is focused on the INFN HERD_DMP experiment that aims at the realization of a facility for the detection of high energy cosmic radiation.
The acronym HERD_DMP covers both the data analysis and monitoring activities of the DAMPE detector (in orbit since December 2015 on a satellite) and the study and development activities of the HERD ("High Energy cosmic Radiation Detection") "facility" to be installed on the China Space Station (CSS). The HERD_DMP experiment is aimed at measuring the flux of electrons and photons in the energy range 2 GeV - 100 TeV and charged cosmic rays from 30 GeV to 30 PeV using an apparatus consisting of a tracer, a calorimeter and plastic scintillators.
